New tool shows how Wisconsin companies help power, build, equip, secure, cool, connect, and maintain modern data centers

MADISON, Wis. [06/23/2026] – The Wisconsin Data Center Coalition today announced the launch of a new interactive supply chain mapping application designed to help policymakers, business leaders, community stakeholders, and the public better understand the wide range of Wisconsin companies involved in building and supporting data centers.

The new application, available at widcc.com/widcc-supply-chain, visually maps the many parts, services, and supply chain relationships that make modern data centers possible. Users can explore key components of a data center, from power and cooling systems to server halls, switchgear, network operations, transportation, security, construction, and maintenance. By hovering over different sections of the application, users can see Wisconsin companies directly involved in those functions.

“Data centers are often thought of as large buildings filled with servers, but that only tells a small part of the story,” said Tricia Braun, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Data Center Coalition. “Behind every data center is a Wisconsin supply chain that includes utilities, construction firms, manufacturers, electrical contractors, logistics providers, technology companies, workforce partners, and many others. This tool helps make that economic ecosystem visible.”

The mapping application highlights Wisconsin companies and organizations that contribute to the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of data centers.

For those unfamiliar with data center development, the platform provides a clear visual explanation of the complexity behind these facilities. For Wisconsin companies, it helps show how the state’s existing strengths in manufacturing, energy, construction, logistics, skilled trades, and technology are already connected to one of the fastest-growing infrastructure sectors in the country.

The Wisconsin Data Center Coalition believes the new mapping application will help communities better understand the connection between data center investment and local economic activity.

The Wisconsin Data Center Coalition will continue updating the application as more companies and supply chain partners are identified. This directory includes business information compiled from publicly available sources, including third-party providers. Inclusion in this database does not constitute an endorsement or verification of any business.
